The communication process refers to the step through which communication takes place between the sender and the receiver. This process starts by with a message by the sender and ends with the feedback from the receiver.
1) Message – In the first step, the communicator develops the message to be sent. I can otherwise be known as the planning stage since this the stage the subject matter of communication.
2) Encoding – means converting or translation of the idea into a perceivable form that can be communicated to others.
3) Selecting the medium – the medium is the channel or means of transmitting the message to the receiver.
4) Transmission of message – the sender actually transmits the message through chosen medium.
5) Decoding – is the receivers interpretation of the senders message. Here the receiver converts the message into thoughts and tries to analyse and understand it.
6) Feedback. Feedback is the final step of the Communication Process, means receivers response to message. It increases the effectiveness of communication. It ensures that the receiver has correctly understood it. Feedback is the essence of two – way communication.
